महाराष्ट्र सरकार ने बड़ा फैसला लेते हुए दोपहर 12 बजे से शाम 5 बजे के बीच सभी खुली रैलियों और सार्वजनिक सभाओं पर प्रतिबंध लगा दिया है। यह कदम केंद्रीय गृह मंत्री अमित शाह के उस कार्यक्रम के बाद उठाया गया है जिसमें गर्मी से बड़ी संख्या में लोग बीमार पड़ गए थे और 14 लोगों की मौत हो गई थी।
कार्यक्रम का आयोजन अप्पासाहेब के नाम से विख्यात समाज सुधारक दत्तात्रेय नारायण धर्माधिकारी को ‘महाराष्ट्र भूषण पुरस्कार’ 2022 प्रदान करने के लिए किया गया था, जिसमें उनके 20 लाख से अधिक अनुयायी शामिल हुए थे। भीषण गर्मी में आयोजित कार्यक्रम में अव्यवस्था के कारण कई लोग बीमार पड़ गए और 14 लोगों की मौत हो गई, जो अप्पासाहेब के अनुयायी थे, जिन्हें श्रीसदास्य कहा जाता है।

प्रदेश कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष नाना पटोले ने बुधवार को कहा कि सोशल मीडिया के नए फोटो/वीडियो को देखते हुए सरकार को स्पष्ट करना चाहिए कि क्या पुरस्कार स्थल पर भगदड़ से मौतें हुई हैं।
पटोले ने सख्ती से कहा कि सच्चाई क्या है और सरकार क्या दबा रही है? मुख्यमंत्री एकनाथ शिंदे और उपमुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस दोनों को इस्तीफा देना चाहिए। मैं राज्यपाल रमेश बैस से इस शासन को बर्खास्त करने की अपील कर रहा हूं।
इससे पहले मंगलवार को नेता प्रतिपक्ष अजीत पवार ने त्रासदी की एक सेवानिवृत्त न्यायाधीश द्वारा न्यायिक जांच और कमियों के लिए दोषी पाए गए सभी लोगों के खिलाफ गैर-इरादतन हत्या का मामला दर्ज करने की मांग की थी। यह रेखांकित करते हुए कि राज्य सरकार ने 25 लाख रुपये के महाराष्ट्र भूषण पुरस्कार के लिए 13 करोड़ रुपये खर्च किए हैं, तिवारी ने शिंदे-फडणवीस से प्रत्येक मृतक के परिजनों को कम से कम एक-एक करोड़ रुपये का मुआवजा देने को कहा, जो बेहद गरीब परिवारों से थे।
अन्य राजनीतिक दलों के वरिष्ठ नेता अतुल लोंडे, क्लाइस क्रैस्टो, डॉ. रघुनाथ कुचिक, ट्रेड यूनियन्स ज्वाइंट एक्शन कमेटी के राज्य संयोजक विश्वास उतगी, एनजीओ और सामाजिक कार्यकर्ताओं ने इस त्रासदी के लिए राज्य सरकार की आलोचना की है। वहीं त्रासदी पर संवेदना व्यक्त करते हुए शाह ने कहा था, कल आयोजित महाराष्ट्र भूषण पुरस्कार समारोह में भाग लेने के दौरान लू के कारण जान गंवाने वाले ‘श्रीसदास्य’ के निधन से मेरा दिल भारी है। मैं उन लोगों के शीघ्र स्वस्थ होने की प्रार्थना करता हूं, जिनका इलाज चल रहा है।
